Here’s a new twist on Santa Barbara County Wine Tours:

The “Wine Line” is a new shuttle service that will run from Los Olivos and travel along Foxen Canyon Road, along which many great wineries are located. Wine tourists can get off at any of over thirty top-notch wineries along the way, and when they are done wine tasting, just wait for the next Wine Line to come along and take them to the next winery of that takes their fancy.

According to Jason Westfall, the founder of the innovative service, wine tasters will be able to get on and off the Wine Line for all the world like a city bus that only stops at wineries (kind of a wine lover’s version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory).

There are two shuttles that run from Thursday to Sunday and stop at each winery along the route every 40 minutes from 10:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. Customers can arrange to be picked up at their hotel or residence and dropped off after their day of wine tasting.  For details, click on the link: Wine Line.

Google “DUI Wine Line” and read the news reports about the owner being convicted of a DUI not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES. The most recent was after starting a company that presents itself as a safe alternative to drunk driving. Not saying it’s a bad company, just saying a lot of us would want to know that little detail. Was Santa Barbara WIne Tours aware of the convictions before posting this story?

No, actually I wasn’t aware of them, but thanks for the information. Three DUIs is a lot, but I have to say that it would be more pertinent if he had been driving one of the Wine Line vans under the influence. As it turns out, he wasn’t, and the fist two convictions were in 2000 and 2004, with the most recent one being in 2009.

Thank you for posting this! It is important for wine tours to post information about themselves, that way people can research beforehand, and find out which wine tour they wish to use. Thank you!
